Lil Wayne’s Rebirth has seen constant delays over the past year, but for once, the album is not being pushed back.

Contrary to reports that it had been moved to June, the rapper’s oft-delayed foray into rock is still scheduled for release on February 2, Universal Motown confirms to Rap-Up.com. Exactly one week later on February 9,.

Wayne is likely to be sentenced and report to prison for almost a year on gun charges.

Rebirth surfaced online when it was prematurely shipped to around 500 Amazon.com customers last month. The final tracklisting may change due to the leak.

The Chris Robinson-directed video for “On Fire” premiered yesterday and “Drop the World,” Weezy’s collaboration with Eminem, debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

Lil Wayne performed his last hometown show Monday in New Orleans before he’s scheduled to be sentenced to prison in New York on February 9.

Wayne, clad in a crimson-red fitted hat and matching winter coat, arrived onstage at the New Orleans Arena to thunderous applause.

“I’m nothing without you,” he told the crowd in response to his ovation, according to The Associated Press.

The rapper has been on a promotional tour with Young Money since earlier this month in support of the recently released We Are Young Money compilation.

The outing kicked off December 17 in Texas but hit a few speed bumps along the way. Earlier this month, the rapper and his entourage were detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Lone Star State. Officials found marijuana on Lil Wayne’s tour bus, but after being held for hours, he was later released and was never charged in the incident.

The New Orleans show went off without a hitch. During Young Money’s performance of “Every Girl,” the crowd cheered with approval. Stripped down to a tank top, Wayne was joined by Mack Maine, Jae Millz and Gudda Gudda for the number. Weezy pulled double-duty subbing for a missing Drake.

Wayne has a number of dates left on his tour, including appearances in Arizona and Mississippi. Next, Wayne and company are set to perform New Year’s Eve at the San Diego Arena in California.

Here goes a clip from DJ Scoob Doo & Lil Wayne’s behind-the-scenes DVD, The Nino Brown Story pt.2. You can read about how and where Wayne records his rhymes, as well as info on his early years. Wayne is shown listening to the playback of a freestyle he spit over Jay-Z’s “D.O.A (Death of Auto-Tune)” for his No Ceilings mixtape, and he’s not sure if he’s getting his point across.

“Say, because I said, ‘Getting swallowed in a Maybach,’ I meant the Maybach’s so big. I don’t want n—a thinking I’m getting h— in the Maybach.”

After a sip of his juice, a lightbulb seemly goes off in his head and Wayne runs back into the booth. He asks his engineer to play the sound back from a certain point and begins to re-record the lines, “I do it for my team Tim Tebow, n—a/ I’m killin’ this shit, grim reap flow n—a/ Getting swallowed by the Maybach, deep throat n—a.”

The much anticipated album by Lil Wayne, Rebirth!! Set for a February 1, 2010 release according to Wikipedia. I checked a bunch of sites to confirm the track list and I came to a consensus of the following, with 9 additional bonus tracks. Not sure whether these will be on the album, on a separate bonus disc or what. Either way, I feel like this album will get scrutinized like Kanye’s 808’s and Heartbreak did. Listen to this with an open mind and you’ll probably appreciate it more. LUKE UPDATE: Even though Amazon leaked some 500 copies of the album, I’m sure the tracklist will change by the time the official album drops.
