Weezy phones in from Riker’s to spit a verse over one of the hottest songs off of Drake’s debut album Thank Me Later, Light Up.

BTW, I’d like to say something about the album. Everyone is hating on it because it didn’t live up to the hype… Obviously it didn’t live up to the hype, it was one of the most over-hyped albums ever. Compare this album to Lebron’s free agency, is he going to live up to the hype? he’s not going to win a championship next year with any team he goes to, so no he won’t live up to it, but he’ll still put up 28/7/7 for the year, MVP type numbers. In case you didn’t get that analogy, Drake’s album would have never lived up to the hype (just like Dr. Dre‘s Detox won’t), but it’s still one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, I can’t skip one song on it, not even CeCe’s Interlude.

LUKE’S 2 CENTS: Thank Me Later is projected to sell around 425k-475k copies the first week. I bought the album, I enjoy the album, but I wouldn’t go so far to say it’s a major accomplishment in the rap game. I show the dude mad love, but it’s no So Far Gone. That sh*t should have been his first album. Maybe on Drizzy‘s sophomore project, Wayne won’t be stuck in the can, helping Drake like he did with his incredibly successful mixtape of the year. One can only hope.

Hot off the press comes this remix of Lil Wayne‘s “Lollipop,” which marks one of the first tracks producer Eprom and Boreta of The Glitch Mob have made under the Nasty Ways moniker. Here, the well-known rapper’s lyrics are chopped, stirred, and manipulated, then thrown atop a thick layer of synths, feedback, and dubby, glitchy programmed beats. One doesn’t normally associate laptop-produced music with the word sexy, but that’s an apt term in this case. A few wavy synth melodies interspersed with the heavy beats add a layer of gentleness as a final touch.

Love. Live. Life. Proceed. Progress. That’s who I am and who I’ll always be. You see, we’re all living on borrowed time, so I’m not worried about this situation. Life happens quick. The more time you spend contemplating what you should have done… you lose valuable time planning what you can and will do. Trying to tear down the past prohibits you from building up your future. So for my time here, my physical will be confined to the yard. My love and my spirit, however, know no boundaries.
